Hello Laser Sailors!!
 
Laser event this weekend-  Crystal Bowl at West River Sailing Club.  It is stop 2 in the District 11 Series.  Registration starts at 8:00 am, skippers meeting at 9:30am, first warning at 11 am.
 
 
Used Laser Wanted:  Donna Dudek is looking for a purchase a used laser for her son to race at SSA- please contact her if you have any info on a boat for sail [dudekdh@msn.com]
 
Wanted - Used Lasers for junior Laser program -

Baltimore County Sailing Center is trying to build a junior Laser program. They have several kids who are interested in participating, but can't afford to buy a boat. The Center would like to find some boats that they can loan to these kids. They are looking for good solid boats in the $2000 or less range. Laser Fleet 10 Update

Hello Laser Sailors!

We had six SSA Fleet 10 members compete in the 2007 Laser Masters US Championships last weekend in Wrightsville Beach N.C. James Jacob was our top SSA finisher placing 11th in the 68 boat fleet. Also competing were Alden Shattuck (18th), Ted Morgan (23rd), Tip Clifton (27th), Robert Creighton (28th) and Bob Tan (30th).

upcoming events....


TESOD- every Tuesday evening through Sept. 5th - First start 6pm. Racing is free to everyone, launching from SSA is limited to members only. Everyone must fill out a registration form- they are located in the SSA clubhouse.

Saturday May 26th - Crystal Bowl at West River Sailing Club, Galesville, MD. This is the next regatta in the District 11 series. It is a one day event. The NOR is available at http://www.laserdistrict11.org/events/e223

Laser fleet 10 update- laser for sale

Hello everyone,

This Saturday (tomorrow) is Rock Hall Yacht Club's Opening day. It is a one day regatta. Registration opens at 8:30am - skippers meeting at 9:30- first gun at 11am.

Severn Sailing Association TESOD - or Tuesday Evening Sail One Design - begins on Tues. May 15. Racing is free to everyone but you must fill out a registration form. Boat launching from SSA is limited to members only. First start at 6 pm.

D11 Championship wrap-up

Hello Laser sailors!

Thank you to everyone who came out for the District 11 Championship. We had a fabulous turn out- 57 boats! Although most sailors were from Distrct 11, we also had visitors from Ohio, PA and NY. We had 3 great races on Saturday. Sunday we had to abandon due to gale-force winds.

After the cut and thrust of the D11 Championships, come and wind down with a days racing on the Eastern Shore. Rock Hall Yacht Club's Opening Day Regatta is next Saturday May 12th. The NOR is posted at www.rockhallyc.org.

Hopefully see you all there.

TESODs start Tues. May 15!!! Come out and enjoy relaxed evening racing- and follow it up with dinner and beverages from Dark n' Stormy's -the new cafe at SSA. First start at 6pm.

Come out to Annapolis and join us for the District 11 Championship. For you lightweights- Don't forget to bring your Radial!!! We will have a separate start for radials if we get >10 boats registered.

NOTICE OF RACE
2007 Laser District 11 Championship

1 RULES:
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) rules.
1.2 The regatta is designated Category C in accordance with RRS Appendix 1, ISAF Regulation 20.
1.3 Appendix P (Immediate Penalties for Breaking Rule 42) will be in effect.

2 RISK
All competitors are ultimately responsible for the inherent risks associated with sailboat racing. It is the competitor's decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. Each competitor will accept full responsibility for all his/her actions during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

3 FLEET ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Both full rigs and radial rig Lasers may race in this event. If ten or more radials register, there will be a separate radial start.
3.2 All Competitors must be members of the North American Laser Class Association.

4 FEES
4.1 Required Fees
Checks should be made payable to "LASER FLEET 10". The entry fee is $55 USD. FOR ENTRIES RECEIVED BY MONDAY, APRIL 30, THE ENTRY FEE IS REDUCED TO $45 USD.
4.2 Credit cards will not be accepted for registration.
4.3 All payments must be in US dollars.
4.4 All early registrations must be received by Monday, April 30. Competitors may register early by completing the standard registration form and sending it with the appropriate fees to:

Radial fleet: First through second place

Laser D11 Championship this weekend!

Hello Laser Sailors!

So the registrations are pouring in! So far we have 31 boats pre-registered and another 10 people planning to register on site. That means at least 40 boats! I think we have ourselves a regatta!!!

Forcast is for sunny weather, highs mid 60's - National Weather Service is forcasting NW winds 10 kts. So if you are still wavering- grab your gear and head to Annapolis for the weekend:)

District 11 Championship- Sat. May 5 and Sun. May 6
2 days of racing, "Cinco de Mayo" dinner and refreshments, and a T-shirt are included in the registration fee.
