Hello Laser Sailors.
 
Thanks to everyone who came out for the Laser Sunshine Open last weekend.  We had 35 boat registered total with 3 sailors from Canada, one from Pittsburgh and one from NJ.  The sunshine showed up on Saturday, but unfortunately the wind did not.  We had only one race on Saturday.  Sunday we sailed out to the racing area but we were forced in by a thunderstorm.  Most people agree that the reach back to SSA in 25+kts was the best sailing of the weekend.  Jon Deutsch of FBYC was first.  He was followed by Roger Link of WRSC in second place (Roger was also the first Master) and Chad Coberly from Pittsburgh, PA in third place.  Kyle Swenson of FBYC was first Junior and 5th overall.  Karen Long of SSA was first Woman.  Kim Couranz of SSA was first Radial.  Complete results are availabe at

Sunshine Open-wanted

 
 2008 Sunshine Open at Severn Sailing Association - April 19-20, 2008
 
NOAA Forcast is for 10-15kts on Saturday and 5-10kts on Sunday.  That plus sunshine, spring like temperatures, good food and beer ..... It looks like we have the makings off a great regatta!  
 
Early registration for has closed.  So far we have 23 full rigs and 1 radial registered, with another 3 full rigs that have said they are coming. 
 
2 days racing, dinner (by Dark and Stormy's cafe) and beverages on Saturday after racing, and souvenir water bottle included in registration fee.  I just picked up the water bottles this morning- they are very cool!!
 
Menu for dinner:  Salad, Grilled Mahi Mahi with Mango Salsa, Risotto, and Betka's Ginger Cake (served with ice cream and rum caramel sauce)
Soda, Water and Keg of Beer
 
We may also have a photographer out on the water.  She will display her digital photo's at the clubhouse after racing, and they will be available for purchase online.
 
Attention radials- if we get 6 or more registered you will have your own start.  So please come out and join us!!
 
***If you have not registered and are planning on attending please email me asap so I can get a head count on dinner.

1.3 The Organizing Authority is Severn Sailing Association in conjunction

2 RISK
2.1 Disclaimer of Liability

 

 

 

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.  See rule 4, Decision to Race.  Severn Sailing Association and Laser fleet 10 will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

 

 

 

3 FLEET ELIGIBILITY

3.1 Both full rigs and radial rig Lasers may race in this event. If six or more radials register, there will be a separate radial start.

4 FEES
4.1  Required Fees

Checks should be made payable to “LASER FLEET 10”.  The entry fee is $55 USD.  FOR ENTRIES RECEIVED BY MONDAY, APRIL 14, THE ENTRY FEE IS REDUCED TO $45 USD.

This conference will address a range of critically important themes in the area of multiculturalism in business. Main speakers will include some of the worlds leading thinkers in the field, as well as numerous papers and workshop presentations by researchers and practitioners.

Participants are also welcome to submit a presentation proposal either for a 30-minute paper, or 60-minute workshop session. We encourage all presenters to submit written papers to DiversityBusiness magazine.
