SSA Laser Fleet 10: Sunshine Open-stuff for sale

2008 Sunshine Open at Severn Sailing Association - April 19-20, 2008

Early registration for has closed. So far we have 22 full rigs and 1 radial registered, with another 3 full rigs that have said they are coming.

2 days racing, dinner (by Dark and Stormie's cafe) and beverages on Saturday after racing, and souvenir water bottle included in registration fee.

Menu for dinner: Salad, Grilled Mahi Mahi with Mango Salsa, Risotto, and Betka's Ginger Cake (served with ice cream and rum caramel sauce)

Soda, Water and Keg of Beer

We may also have a photographer out on the water. She will display her digital photo's at the clubhouse after racing, and they will be available for purchase online.

Attention radials- if we get 6 or more registered you will have your own start. So please come out and join us!!

NOTICE OF RACE - 2008 Laser Sunshine Open

April 19, 20- 2008

1 RULES:

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) rules.

1.2 The regatta is designated Category C in accordance with RRS Appendix 1, ISAF Regulation 20.

1.3 The Organizing Authority is Severn Sailing Association in conjunction

with Laser Fleet 10.

2 RISK
2.1 Disclaimer of Liability

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. Severn Sailing Association and Laser fleet 10 will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

3 FLEET ELIGIBILITY

3.1 Both full rigs and radial rig Lasers may race in this event. If six or more radials register, there will be a separate radial start.

4 FEES
4.1 Required Fees

Checks should be made payable to “LASER FLEET 10”. The entry fee is $55 USD. FOR ENTRIES RECEIVED BY MONDAY, APRIL 14, THE ENTRY FEE IS REDUCED TO $45 USD.

4.2 Online registration is available at www.sailregattas.com .

4.3 All payments must be in US dollars.

4.4 All early registrations must be received by Monday, April 14. Competitors may register early online at www.sailregattas.com or by completing the standard registration form and sending it with the appropriate fees to:

4.5 The entry fee includes dinner and beverages after racing on Saturday and a commemorative prize.

5 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

5.1 Saturday, April 19
0830 -0930 Registration
0930 Skippers Meeting
1100 First warning signal, races to follow

Dinner and beverages after racing are included in registration fee.

Sunday, April 20
1100 First warning signal, races to follow
Awards to follow ASAP after last race.

5.2 No race to shall start after 1500 on Sunday.

6 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

6.1 The sailing instructions will be available during on-site registration.

7 SCORING
7.1 The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A2, will be used except as modified below.

7.2 There will be one discard when five or more races are completed.

8 AWARDS
Prizes will be awarded to:
Laser fleet: First through third place, first master and first woman.

Radial fleet: First through second place
